Kind words from my clients

Oh man, where to start. I don't think anyone who has taken Pauline's class can say thank you enough for the inspiration she has given to all of us. I am one of those lucky individuals whose life she has made a huge difference in. I guess you could say I found myself in a rut.

When I was in high school I participated in sports, so, therefore, was physically fit then. When graduation hit and I went to college I stopped playing the sports completely and quickly put on weight and fell right out of shape. I never found that one thing that I would want to continue to do by myself without someone pushing me to do it. When I graduated from college I moved home and was still in a rut. After a couple of years of being at home and finally sick of seeing the person in the mirror, I tried a couple of classes that the Windsor Rec. Department offered. None of them really seemed to grab me. A friend of mine, who was already taking Pauline's Zumba class said I should give it a try. I was hooked!!!

Pauline made it so much fun to work out. I needed that. I found myself looking forward to the Zumba nights. Even when I missed class for vacations or whatnot, I would always try to do it on my own with the music Pauline gave me. Since I have started Zumba, I have lost a total of 34 pounds and 4 inches. I have not changed my eating habits. By that, I mean that I still eat pizza, and cookies, and all the stuff that people recommend you don't eat; LOL I eat it! The thing I have learned from Pauline the most is that portion control is what most of us struggle with. I was for sure one of those people :)

It is because of Pauline that I have gained some self-confidence back in myself and take pride in what I look like again. I would encourage anyone who has not tried Zumba but has been wanting to, to just go do it. You don't have to know anyone in the class to take it because the people in the class are some of the nicest, friendliest, kindhearted people I have ever met.

So I guess what it all boils down to is this is the only way I can think of to say Thank You to the person who I guess you can say has given me a part of my life back that I was ready to just kiss away. Thank you, Pauline, again, words just can't say it enough.

I have had the pleasure of working with Pauline through personal training and her Zumba class. Not only is she a kind-hearted and caring person, but she is also highly knowledgeable in the field of fitness and has invaluable experience as an instructor.

Pauline is always introducing innovative techniques making workouts fresh, fun and novel. I can't say enough about the encouragement Pauline gives. She never lets you give up and pushes you to believe in yourself.

But most commendably, Pauline took the time to educate herself about my particular health conditions and has worked around my limitations.

For the first time in three years, I've been able to lower my medication thanks to working with Pauline."

I cannot say enough about Pauline and the quality of training and teaching she provides. About a year and a half ago, I started taking Zumba at the Windsor Rec Center. I played sports in high school and college but had been inactive for quite some time. I was admittedly apprehensive about exercising again because of embarrassment about my weight gain after the birth of my last child and poor habits while on business travel. I talked many times about needing to get back in shape and joined various fitness clubs, but my previous efforts ended due to a lack of total commitment and motivation on my part. The lack of commitment stopped once I started taking Pauline’s fun and interactive classes. It is very evident she has a deep passion for teaching and fitness. Pauline’s classes and teaching style made it fun to exercise again. I have since added Body Pump and Cycling to my schedule.

Based on how much I enjoyed the Zumba classes, I wanted to take my weight loss journey to the next level and thought personal training with Pauline was the next natural progression. Pauline is an excellent personal trainer who creates a mix of creative, fun and challenging exercises to help you meet your goals and couples it with positive encouragement. She watches carefully for technique errors to ensure you safely execute and receive the maximum benefit from the exercises. In addition to personal training, I started Venice Nutrition with Pauline to complement my exercise regimen. Since I started Venice Nutrition, my body composition has changed, I have lost 20 pounds and along with inches, and gained muscle. My old clothes hang on me, and I have gone down in clothing size. Pauline’s coaching allows you to find the right mix of foods while still staying within the guidelines of the program. She consistently gives feedback and encouragement to stay the course and remembering your motivation for changing your habits. She gives good recommendations about the right combination of foods including snacks and recipes. With training and better nutrition, I am stronger and have increased my endurance and stamina. I no longer have digestive issues as a result of improved nutritional habits.

Pauline is a fantastic trainer with a friendly personality who is knowledgeable, hands-on, and skilled at motivating others. She is also a kind-hearted, caring person, genuinely concerned about the well-being of her clients. I feel incredibly blessed and am thankful to have the opportunity to train and learn better nutritional habits from Pauline. She has made an indelible mark on me and her fitness expertise has impacted me for the better. The lessons I have learned from training and better nutrition have translated positively to my work and school environments. As a result, I am more relaxed, focused, and energized. I highly recommend Pauline and Lift-4U without reservation for any training or nutritional needs. She is dedicated and excels at helping people reach their fitness goals and training needs.

My first experience with Pauline was when I joined her boot camp a year ago. I had finally come to a point in my life that gravity had taken over my body, and I needed professional help to take it back. Boot camp was a great experience, but I still felt like I needed more personal attention to reach all of my goals. I signed up with her for a 10 session personal training and haven't looked back since. Pauline is more than just a personal trainer; she's a Life Coach with fitness and nutrition expertise. If you are looking for a trainer who can not only change your body composition but build your confidence and teach you how to live a better life, look no further than Pauline.

Pauline is part of our community and somebody who strives to give back everything she has ever learned to make you a better person. When you're ready to stop making excuses, apologies, or having regrets for the way you feel and are ready to take your life back but need help to get started, Pauline is your answer.

"I started taking Pauline's Zumba class after I had my 3rd and final son in July 2010. I started class in August weighing 232 pounds. I vowed to lose all the weight I had gained with back to back pregnancies and continue on my journey that started after my first son was born. My workouts soon became the only "me" time I had, and I enjoyed every second of those 60 minutes of class.

I fell in love with Zumba and with Pauline. She made the class feel so comfortable (for a not so comfortable person). Her passion and enthusiasm was contagious, and I found myself needing her positive energy in my weight loss journey. By December of 2010, after 4 months I had lost 20 pounds, and then Pauline brought R.I.P.P.E.D. to town.

I started R.I.P.P.E.D. in January of 2011, and was addicted. The class was just what I needed for my then 212 lb. body. I needed a challenge and to get some weight lifting in without going to a gym. I remember feeling intimidated that I wouldn't be very good at the class, but every week Pauline would reassure us that it was a class anyone could handle. After 3 months of R.I.P.P.E.D I have lost 24 lbs. and 15 inches. I also go to class every week feeling confident in my abilities and strong that I can do anything I put my mind to. I am currently 188 lbs. which is the skinniest I have ever known. I can credit a lot of that to R.I.P.P.E.D. and Pauline for her passion for making other people's lives healthy and worth living.

Zumba was a great place to start for me, but R.I.P.P.E.D. is by far my favorite class. Pauline will always have a place in my heart as part of my journey. I can not wait to use R.I.P.P.E.D. to get these next 50lbs off!"

I am a 65-year-old retired widower.  At one time in my life, I was in excellent shape.  I ran in a few marathons and countless 10-K races. Yet after 35 years in a sedimentary job consisting of sitting behind a desk and traveling around the nation, I became a classic couch potato. My only exercise was walking short distances a few days a week and playing golf. I turned into the kind of “senior” I never imagined I would be – out of shape, over-weight and taking medications for high blood pressure and high cholesterol

I have a very special friend who regularly participates in Pauline Brown’s Zumba and R.I.P.P.E.D classes. My friend asked me to attend a R.I.P.P.E.D and Zumba demonstration. Less than ten minutes into the demonstration I was marveling at my friend’s incredible physical condition. I decided it was time to make some drastic changes in my life.

I started walking, every day, and riding my bike at least three days a week. I signed up for Boot Camp with Pauline Brown as the instructor. Three months later I added bi-weekly cycling classes at the Lift 4 You studio to my routine. Today, less than one year later, my blood pressure and cholesterol have improved to the point that I likely will be off all medications very soon.  I feel better. I sleep better.  With no changes in my diet, I have lost two inches off my waistline and have notice improvements in my flexibility and balance.  I am no longer an over-weight, out of shape “senior” citizen.

Health clubs and fitness centers are everywhere. Many people join with the best of intentions; hang around for a while, then stop attending.  What separates Lift 4 You from the clutter is Pauline Brown and her ability to motivate her people. Pauline easily transfers her passion and dedication to physical fitness to her students. If you are serious about your physical conditioning and fitness, Lift 4 You is the answer.

This letter is to express my gratitude to Pauline Brown for her outstanding services as a fitness trainer and to discuss why I recommend her training to family, friends, and acquaintances.

Pauline instructed my first Zumba class in September 2008. I was immediately impressed by her friendliness and genuine caring for each individual in the class. She stressed “leaving our shyness at the door” and “having fun”. Because of her skill at motivating and challenging each participant I have added her Boot Camp (when available), Zumba, R.I.P.P.E.D., and Cycling classes to my weekly schedule.

Her knowledgeable instruction and positive encouragement in these activities have made it possible for me to significantly strengthen my arms, legs, and core. My coordination, stamina and strength have also improved. I inherited a short stocky build and a family history of obesity. Pauline's instruction has changed my focus from the anxiety of dieting and being unable to maintain a healthy weight to enjoying fun classes that maintain my physical and mental health. I also have a history of right shoulder pain to the point of considering surgery. The shoulder and arm work along with Pauline's guidance on correct form and modifications have restored my right arm to a full range of motion without surgery.

Classes have never become stale as she continues studying and training herself to present a variety of choreography, exercise moves, equipment, and music. Stressing that we get out of an activity in direct proportion to the effort we put into it. She is committed to excellent instruction working the entire body. Pauline is very engaging and human; readily admitting to an occasional lap in memory and recovering quickly. Very understandable with her extensive list of programs and choreography.

Pauline is an excellent example of sharing her many gifts and talents to benefit others. She does this through charitable fundraisers for CASA, Breast Cancer and others. Instructing group classes in Zumba, R.I.P.P.E.D., Boot Camp and Cycling. Also one-on-one personal training. Always accepting, encouraging and committed. I am thankful to Pauline and attest to the outstanding abilities and value of her services to anyone interested in becoming healthier and happier.

I have been taking fitness classes since I turned 16, nearly 30 years ago. I consider myself to be an expert at knowing what skills one must possess to be deemed a "good instructor". To say that Pauline is a "good instructor" just doesn't do her justice. Let me explain.

Pauline embodies the global aspect of fitness and health in every way. I can honestly say, with true conviction, that I've never had a teacher as wonderful as her. Pauline makes every student feel cared for, included, and most importantly, safe! Walking into her class is like walking into a nice friendly get together where everyone is welcome. She knows how to make even the hardest class of all time, fun, doable and attainable for every age and stage participant. Each class she offers teaches me something new. I have yet to leave one of her classes not feeling more rejuvenated, genuinely cared for and stronger (both physically and mentally) than before. All of this, and I haven't even mentioned her results!

By embodying physical fitness herself, she proves to us that staying active actually works! It's not often that I watch a female instructor pound out 50 tricep pushups with ease or finish a quad track with a burn that leaves every one of us moaning in pain with, "wasn't that awesome?" By combining ease with effort, and some awesome stories along the way, she leads us through an hour of hard work and fun.

How Windsor ever got so lucky to have Pauline in our area, I'll never know. But I will be sure to take advantage of it every chance I get. And just like I overheard the two teenage girls say to one another after leaving her class last week, "Dude, Pauline is hashtag GOALS!" Take a bow, my friend. This says it all.

My wife and I have known Pauline for about a year, having moved to Colorado from Illinois. We were long time members of a local fitness studio in Illinois and were apprehensive about finding a similar place here. You grow close to your trainer. Could we find a similar situation, where we were comfortable with, and liked, our trainer? We need not have worried.

Pauline embraced us right away and made us feel at home at the Windsor Rec Center. Her classes are challenging, but adapted to varying degrees of ability. You never feel embarrassed because you can’t keep up…but you will be corrected if you don’t do it right! That’s all we ask, and Pauline delivers.

Plus, she is just such a delight. Pauline takes a personal interest in all of her class members, always caring for us as individuals. At no time was this more dramatically demonstrated that during the Covid 19 pandemic. With her students stuck at home, Pauline went online to offer live classes to any of us who wanted to sign into her Facebook page, without ever asking for a penny. That is above and beyond the call of duty, and a prime example of her sincere, caring attitude.

Pauline encourages and inspires us to stay fit; we are so happy we found her.

I have been attending Pauline’s Cycle, Body Pump, TRX and R.I.P.P.E.D. classes for almost two years now and can’t say enough nice things about Pauline and the classes! Not only have they been absolutely fantastic for my fitness, with great results, but they have become something I look forward to.

I met Pauline through my mom, who had been regularly attending Pauline’s fitness classes. My mom consistently raved about how much she enjoyed the classes, Pauline and the people she had met through them. She kept trying to get me to join and give the classes a try. I kept saying no has I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy them and was worried they may have the intimidating atmosphere that you often find in gyms. Being out of shape and not familiar with the workouts and routines I was intimidated to go to the classes, but boy was I wrong!

I started by attending one of Pauline’s cycle classes. I immediately felt welcome. It was a great atmosphere, full of support and genuine kindness. Though I was a “newbie”, I didn’t feel like one. Pauline and Bob explained the class to me, how to use the cycle machines and got me set up on the bike properly so that I was comfortable and getting the best workout possible. I really appreciated the extra time and effort to make sure I was comfortable in the class.

All it took was one class and I was hooked!

I begin to join Pauline’s other fitness classes in addition to cycling - Body Pump, TRX and R.I.P.P.E.D. Just like cycling, these classes are a fantastic workout but provided the variety I needed. Pauline thoroughly explains how to perform the moves in each class and helps make sure we are using the correct form to avoid injury and get the most out of the workout. I leave every class looking forward to the next. One thing I loved as a “newbie” in Pauline’s classes is that she always provides a variety of options for each fitness level so that anyone, regardless of their fitness level, can take and enjoy the classes. This allowed me to start simple and work my way up to more complex and difficult versions of an exercise.

Pauline genuinely cares about her clients and students. She goes out of her way to make sure we are getting not only a great workout but that we are having a great time doing so. She is supportive and is always motivating us to do better. I consider Pauline a great friend and am so happy that I finally listened to my mom and joined Pauline’s classes. It has honestly been life-changing.

If you are looking to attend Pauline’s classes or hire her as a personal trainer, do it!!  You won’t just get a fitness coach, you’ll get someone you can call a friend, someone who really does care about you and your fitness journey. You will be extremely happy!

I had the pleasure of meeting Pauline a couple of years ago at the Windsor Community Rec Center when I first started doing group-fitness. I had never spent much time working out, but the way that Pauline led the first class I tried made me want to keep going. She challenged me and encouraged me in ways that helped me fundamentally re-think about fitness. I started with Body Pump, but Pauline encouraged me to continue trying new things and now I'm a regular with BP, R.I.P.P.E.D., TRX, and cycle. Exercising with her is something I look forward to each week!

Pauline is far beyond what I would expect a fitness instructor to be. Her classes have provided a community for me, and I believe that she truly believes I can succeed and accomplish my goals! I have medical issues that require me to modify some of the workouts, but Pauline is always quick with suggestions on how I can stay safe, have excellent form, and she is very encouraging even when I'm frustrated with my limitations.

Two years after meeting Pauline I now consider myself to be athletic, capable of pushing through physical limitations, and I have found wonderful friendships in the process! I could never speak highly enough of Pauline Brown! Anyone who gets the opportunity to work with her will be better off for it! I know that she has been a large part of a major transformation for me, and I am forever grateful!

I met Pauline in October of 2016 when I attended one of her Zumba classes.  I could tell right away the compassion she had for Zumba and all of her participants.

She is a very strong woman and never lets life knock her down.  After breast cancer and a double mastectomy, Pauline came back to class and encouraged all of us to get our Mammograms.

She truly cares for all of us.

Pauline teaches Zumba, Cycle, RIPPED, Body Pump and TRX.  Plus she does personal training at her house.  She never stops. She keeps her classes fun and interesting.

One of the best things I love about Pauline is that she is who she is.  She doesn’t pretend to be the perfect instructor, that never eats junk food and never makes mistakes in class, and she truly loves her clients and class participants.

Pauline is a wonderful person inside and out.  I am so blessed to have found her as an instructor and a friend. Because of Pauline, I look forward to going to class each week.

Thank you, Pauline, for all you do for me,

I started taking classes with Pauline about four years ago, and her enthusiasm for fitness was immediately contagious!  She always makes the work-outs fun and productive - focusing her students on ways to improve and continuously challenge themselves.

I've observed that people of any age and fitness level feel equally comfortable in her classes.

Since that first Zumba class, she has introduced me to Body Pump, R.I.P.P.E.D, Rumble and TRX which I attend regularly.  It's her inspirational style that got me hooked!  I love you, Pauline!

I've met Pauline through several forms of exercise classes. She's GRRRRRRRREAT!!!!

It's fun to step into a class and be greeted by a happy, smiling instructor who loves what she's doing. Pauline knows how to include "Everybody" in the class, whether they are First Timers, All Timers, or Old Timers. She encourages you to do as much as you can but never pushes you into discomfort. People return time after time to be in Pauline's classes, they follow her to other towns and communities to participate in her high energy functions.

Pauline, and her husband, Bob, are a delightful team to watch in action. They are open, honest, sincere, loving, and kind to one another, and to their classmates. Their hearts are warm and sincere to each other, their families, their pet animals, and their community.

Where ever Pauline goes she will attract people like a magnet because she cares about them and they know it! I highly recommend Pauline!!!!

I am a woman in her mid-sixties who always avoided anything associated with gyms or exercise classes. I was very self-conscious of my body and the physical limitations from cancer, inactivity, and weight issues. I first heard about Pauline, five years ago, from a neighborhood group of women who trained with her. They spoke so highly of her and encouraged me to explore personal training as an option to address health concerns.

With much anxiety and trepidation, I decided to give training a chance and agreed to meet with Pauline. I am so glad I went outside my comfort zone and made the decision to allow this incredible trainer to become part of my life!

Pauline tailored all of my workout sessions to my current abilities, setting me up for success and encouraging me to stay the course even when it was challenging. Working with Pauline, I never felt humiliated or embarrassed by my limitations. She was patient, kind, and attentive to correct form to avoid any injuries. It became so rewarding when I realized I could lift that heavy sack of groceries out of my car, fit into that pair of slacks that had been languishing in my closet, and ride farther on my bike. I actually became hooked on exercise and how it made me feel.

Pauline encouraged me to try spin classes and weight lifting (Body Pump) for variety and now my husband calls me a “hard body”.

Because of this wonderful woman, my blood sugar has dropped out of the diabetic range and I have lost appreciable weight. I am so grateful to have found Pauline and gained self-esteem and a healthier lifestyle. If you want someone with the talent and expertise to bring out your untapped strength and abilities, in a supportive and positive environment, Pauline is the ideal trainer.

Pauline Brown and I met nearly 15 years ago at a mutual friend's wedding. I heard a conversation about a class called Zumba and that Pauline was the instructor. I have been a dancer all my life and thought I would give it a try.

From the very first class, I was hooked! What a fun and exciting atmosphere. Pauline's energetic and inclusive nature made the experience more than just a fitness class. It became a room full of friends under the positive and fun leadership of Pauline!

Before long, Pauline encouraged me to get certified to teach. I did! I have embraced the Zumba world and have been an instructor at the WRC ever since Pauline encouraged me to do so. I owe it all to, and gained a wonderful friend in, Pauline Brown!!

“Eight years ago I was new to the area and knew I had to take a step forward and prioritize my health.  I landed in a circuit class that Pauline was teaching at the Recreation Center.  I initially thought I should try something a little bit easier so I didn’t pass out and die.  Pauline has since then taught me that I am so strong mentally and has challenged me in ways I never thought were possible physically.  I now regularly take RIPPED, Body Pump and cycle and am stronger than I have ever been. During that journey, I have watched Pauline, one of the most inspiring women I have ever encountered, go through shoulder and knee replacement surgery and fight breast cancer. Every time she inspires prevails and is so open about the journey with us.  She is kind and passionate and above all a true professional.  Anyone who gets to be with Pauline will be better because of it. She has taught me that I am worth taking care of and I can do far more than I ever thought.”

I started a Zumba class with Pauline four years ago. I have no dance skills at all!  Pauline’s class was so much fun. She was so encouraging.  I then started taking other classes she offered. Each class she was so positive. She always took the time to explain how to properly do the movements.  It was amazing how quickly she also became a friend.

After a few months, I started coming to her cycle studio. I have been doing the cycling classes for over two years and am amazed at how my overall fitness has improved. I have also taken some personal training sessions from Pauline. She works on improving balance, strength and cardio in each session.

Pauline has helped me not just get in better physical shape but also has become a friend who truly cares about me. She is very kind and caring. I feel she always pushes me to be an overall better person.

Thank you, Pauline.
